El viernes 22 de agosto, las Cataratas del Iguazú, una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas de la Naturaleza en el mundo, recibieron al turista un millón, dos meses antes que en el 2024. El mayor porcentaje de turistas son nacionales y entre un 25 y 28% son turistas internacionales.
Este crecimiento refleja el fuerte posicionamiento del destino y el trabajo articulado entre el sector público, el privado y la comunidad local.
Al respecto, Carol Da Rosa- gerente general de Iguazú Argentina S.A (concesionaria del área Cataratas del Iguazú)- manifestó que «para nosotros el turista un millon es la recompensa de mucho trabajo y esfuerzo por ofrecer siempre lo mejor en un destino de naturaleza impactante, este es el logro de un trabajo en conjunto entre el sector público y privado».
Y agregó «gracias a esa sinergia podemos tener un Parque con tantos servicios, actividades y comodidades, por eso los visitantes necesitan dos días para recorrerlo y disfrutar de todo lo que está disponible, e incluso se ofrecen actividades nocturnas, como el Paseo de la Luna que se realiza cada mes en plenilunio».
Además dijo que «hay más de 300 personas abocadas al servicio y atención del turista, siempre intentamos que quienes nos visitan disfruten y tengan una experiencia placentera. Para nosotros es muy grato ver a las personas salir emocionadas del Parque, nos llena el alma de alegría saber que se van felices con lo vivido».
Certificados de New 7 Wonders
Desde el mes de julio, el Parque Nacional Iguazú ofrece a sus visitantes la posibilidad de obtener un certificado oficial personalizado, coleccionable, que acredita su visita y es emitido por la prestigiosa fundación internacional New7Wonders.
En referencia al Certificado oficial de New 7 Wonders, la gerente general de Iguazú Argentina S.A dijo «el Certificado es muy elegido por los visitantes, sobre todo los que son coleccionistas, es un recordatorio de que estuvieron visitando una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas de la Naturaleza en el Mundo. Es personalizado, va con el nombre del turista que lo adquiere y también es acumulable, porque las personas que visitan otras Maravillas del Mundo también pueden obtener los certificados de las demás Maravillas hasta llegar a completar toda la colección».
Y destacó «siempre invitamos a los visitantes que se lleven este recordatorio porque es muy valioso y especial».
Por su parte Jean Paul de la Fuente, Director de la Fundación New7Wonders destacó que “los certificados oficiales New7Wonders son el registro simbólico de la visita a una de las Nuevas 7 Maravillas del Mundo, en este caso, las Cataratas del Iguazú. No es solo un recuerdo, sino también un testimonio de la participación en la creación de la historia!”
Más del Parque en este 2025
Por otra parte, Carol Da Rosa comentó que continúan con las obras de mejora y puesta en valor en el Parque Nacional Iguazú.
Entre ellas mencionó la inversión que realizaron este año para la infraestructura de las vías ferroviarias del tren ecológico, las mejoras en los espacios comunes, locales comerciales y de eficiencia energética.
«Son obras que representan mayores comodidades para los visitantes y mejores espacios de descanso y disfrute» resaltó.
Para finalizar la titular de Iguazú Argentina S.A. expresó «invitamos a todos a que puedan visitar las Cataratas del Iguazú, este es un espacio de naturaleza accesible, con un 90% de accesibilidad para todos. Es un lugar increíble y lleno de vida y energía, hay mucho por hacer, por disfrutar y recorrer».
Y recordó que «dentro del Parque la gente puede acceder todas las veces que quiera al tren ecológico, para trasladarse de un punto al otro, sin pagar un coste adicional porque este servicio está inluido dentro del ticket de ingreso».
Además dijo que «más allá de las Cataratas del Iguazú, en la ciudad de Puerto Iguazú hay más de 30 atractivos por conocer, todos muy lindos e interesantes, hay una excelente propuesta hotelera, gastronómica y de vida nocturna, en un ambiente agradable y seguro, que sin dudas se ofrece para disfrutar de una estadía inolvidable».
El Parque Nacional Iguazú, cuna de las Cataratas del Iguazú, cuenta con unos 275 saltos rodeados de una exhuberante naturaleza y biodiversidad. Este atractivo se ubica en la frontera de Argentina y Brasil, un 80% de los saltos pertenecen a Argentina y el 20% a Brasil. El lugar está abierto los 365 días del año en el horario de 8 a 18 horas.
Argentina: The Iguazú Falls have an increase in visits of 21% so far this year

New 7 Wonders Certificates
Since July, the Iguazú National Park offers its visitors the possibility of obtaining an official personalized, collectible certificate that accredits their visit and is issued by the prestigious international foundation New7Wonders.
In reference to the official Certificate of New 7 Wonders, the general manager of Iguazú Argentina S.A said «the Certificate is very chosen by visitors, especially those who are collectors, it is a reminder that they were visiting one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature in the World. It is personalized, goes with the name of the tourist who acquires it and is also cumulative, because people who visit other Wonders of the World can also obtain the certificates of the other Wonders until they complete the entire collection.»
And he stressed «we always invite visitors to take this reminder because it is very valuable and special.»

On the other hand, Carol Da Rosa commented that they continue with the improvement and enhancement works in the Iguazú National Park.
